WHITE WHITE WHITE / 2018 / video / 16:9 / 04'47" / projection 108 x 192 cm / loop
The impossibility to see white as white, the impossibility of a colour not being influenced by its environment in which it functions and the failure of pure perception. This work derives from my fascination that it is impossible to see something as it is. Everything we see, we see in a certain way. A certain way cannot be taken away from seeing. We cannot see something without ourselves. We always see the world through the filter of natural conditions. Light makes it possible that we see and it ensures us that what we see we see in a specific way. That specific way is situational. I investigate the incompatibility of metaphysical concepts within concrete situations.
